Originally derived from a sign-making and relief carving CAD program, Jewelsmith still remains second to none in working with complex relief details and organic surfaces on ring shapes and flat surfaces. It offers some of the most powerful surface sculpting tools available, making it ideal for figurative relief or texture work.

Since its models are built in such a different way from most other CAD software programs, it combines well with other CAD software packages for generating 3D geometry with fine details. DelCAM's own product design CAD program Powershape is a good example.
